One-Year Certificate of Completion

Students seeking employment in occupations in human resources can complete this unique certificate or apply these courses toward an AAS in Business Administration. Students intending to transfer and pursue a Bachelor’s degree at a university should work closely with their advisor to make the best decisions regarding courses and program selection. 

This one-year certificate of completion is designed to provide the foundational coursework for a variety of occupations in human resources. Success in the HR profession requires strong writing and communication skills, a confident understanding of the legal, ethical, and operational elements of the HR role, and the ability to complete a variety of tasks that HR professionals address in their work environment.

Program coursework focuses on the fundamental areas of general business management, business law, management of human resources, leadership, human relations skills, and general office procedures. A strong focus on technology is embedded throughout the coursework in computer applications, project management, and the actual application of these concepts to real-world HR scenarios and cases. Theory and current trends are explored, and numerous opportunities will be provided for practical application. Business ethics and workplace dynamics are addressed throughout this program with strong focus on professional communication and interpersonal skills.
