CHE 241 - Organic Chemistry I4.00 credits First term of a three-term series. Course focuses on organic chemistry nomenclature, physical properties of functional groups, mechanism, synthesis, and qualitative and quantitative analysis. Recommended for chemical engineering majors, laboratory science majors, and preprofessional students in all medical fields. Prerequisites: One year of college-level general chemistry with lab is required–either the CHE 104-106 series, CHE 221-223 series, or successful completion of a one-year general chemistry course within the last three years. Corequisite: CHE 241L.
