BIO 240 - Forensic DNA Biology

Lecture with lab course focusing on forensic DNA analysis. Emphasis placed on analysis of PCR products resolved via capillary electrophoresis-the STRs Loci of CODIS and the SNPs of mtDNA for the assessment of identity, ethnic origin, and maternal lineage. Recommended: High school biology in the last 7 years. Prerequisites: MTH 020 or MTH 070 or MTH 095 or MTH 111 or placement into MTH 070 and WRI 090 or WRI 095 or WRI 121 or placement into WRI 095.
