Global Languages and Learning Department (GLL)

The Global Languages and Learning Department is dedicated to supporting students whose first language is not English, with a special focus on Spanish-speaking students who wish to earn their General Education Diploma (GED) in Spanish. The department offers the following programs:

  • Three Levels of English as a Second Language (ESL): ESL courses are designed to meet the standards set by the Commission on English Language Accreditation (CEA). Students will be tested and placed in the appropriate level based on their language proficiency, ensuring that they receive targeted support to improve their English skills.
  • GED Preparation in Spanish: The department provides specific GED preparation for Spanish-speaking students, offering a tailored approach to help them earn their high school equivalency in their native language.

This department operates separately from the High School Equivalency Program (HEP) and is focused on meeting the needs of Spanish-speaking students who are working toward their GED.
