AMT 286 - Automotive Practicum II6 credits This course compliments AMT 186 and AMT 285 as well as all First and Second Year automotive technology courses. This course focuses on workplace experience or internship under the supervision of an ASE certified technician in selected industry settings. Students will diagnose and repair live automotive concerns utilizing learned principles; allowing for integration of knowledge and practice for achievement of basic-level skill competency. This course requires verifiable employment and/or completion of assigned NATEF Task Requirements for credit. AMT 286 coincides with student enrollment in Automotive Service Technology 200-Level courses. This course, in addition to AMT 186 , allows the student to satisfy ASE separate work experience requirements needed to receive any certification(s) achieved during the concurrent or previous terms. Prerequisite: Enrollment/Credit/Completion in all AMT-200 Level Courses, and a valid driver’s license. Corequisite: Completion of all instructor assigned NATEF tasks. [SP]
