Learning Resource Center
The Learning Resource Center (LRC) includes the Library, Testing Center and the Tutoring Center. The LRC supports academic success by creating an atmosphere of dynamic learning for students, faculty, and staff.
Library
The library continuously develops its collection to support the college curriculum and students’ academic needs. The collection includes over 7,000 books and over 1,000 videos. The library maintains a reserve collection providing access to selected course materials for short-term, in-library use. The library’s catalog is part of the Sage Library System, which provides interlibrary loan of books from over 70 Central and Eastern Oregon libraries.
The library also provides online access to multiple database suites, which include full-text records for journal, magazine, and newspaper articles, e-books, videos, and other resources in many subject areas.
The library has computers for student use including a lab with 24 computers, equipped with Microsoft Office® and other software. Internet access is unrestricted. Printing, photocopying, and scanning are available and free of charge.
A valid student ID is necessary to check out library materials. Please see the library help desk for assistance.
Tutoring Center
The LRC offers tutoring in a variety of subjects to support student success:
- Drop-in tutoring
- Individual and group appointments with a tutor
- Targeted study sessions with a tutor
- Tutor assistance is available in selected classes and labs
Limited online tutoring, available 24 hours every day, is free of charge to KCC students.
Testing Center
The Testing Center administers and proctors career-related examinations from the State of Oregon and a variety of trade and professional organizations as well as college placement exams and exams taken for college credit. The Testing Center also proctors tests for KCC courses at the request of the instructor.
