PNS 103 - Practical Nursing III

8 credits
Utilizing the nursing process and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, this course introduces the nursing student to the needs of the family in adapting to life in a changing society. Students are taught basic knowledge of the reproductive process and care of the individual during the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods. Content also covers care of the individual with maladaptive physical or psychological responses. Basic knowledge of the leadership role for the nurse is presented. Caring is integrated throughout the course content with consideration of the holistic aspects of the individual and family. The role of the nurse as health team member is stressed throughout the course. Corequisite: PNS 103L . [F]
