The Mechanical Design Solid Modeling Career Pathway Certificate provides the student with the coursework needed to be in an entry-level position where skills and knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software is required. Students will achieve their individual goals by providing the knowledge and skills to enter the design field of their choice by using the latest technologies and industry trends.

Program Learning Outcomes

• Use the Autodesk Inventor® computer aided design (CAD) software in the creation of industry standard solid models.
• Demonstrate simulation analysis (Introduction to Stress Analysis), and other iterative design techniques; create a simple CAE example and describe the use and application.
• Create 2D models using standard drawing techniques and views.
• Create Boolean solid features capable of being used in CAE and CAM processes.
• Create drawing views, assemblies, bill of material, and drawing configuration borders and control techniques in solid format meeting ANSI standards.
• Demonstrate the introduction to simulation analysis (SimulationXpress), 3D printing, and other construction techniques.
