MTH 070 - Elementary Algebra

The following topics are covered: Order of operations, fundamental properties of Algebra, solving linear equations and inequalities, the two-coordinate graphing plane, plotting points, graphing of linear equations, basic geometric formulas and problem solving, solving systems of equations, rules of exponents, arithmetic operations of polynomials, factoring of polynomials, and solving quadratic equations by factoring. Concepts will be introduced numerically, graphically, and symbolically. Results will be communicated in oral and written form. Prerequisite: Successful completion of MTH 20 or placement by entrance exam. {SU, F, W, SP}
