This program provides a strong foundation of basic skills in office administration. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking and interpersonal skills. Course work includes related instruction requirements, industry-standard computer programs, and specific business and office administration courses.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the certificate, students will be able to:
Perform specific tasks using a combination of computer applications, communication skills, and accepted office procedures.
Demonstrate an understanding of general office skills and procedures.
Identify common behaviors and relationships within an organization as they apply to the administrative assistant’s role in the office.
Demonstrate keyboard skills at an acceptable speed and accuracy.

Electives are not limited to technical courses but must be advisor approved. Refer to Administrative Office Professional AAS complete list of approved elective courses. Additional approved technical courses will bring the total number of credits to 45.
