Two-Year Associate of Applied Science Degree

The AAS in Agriculture Science is designed for those students seeking a career in the agriculture industry. Upon successful completion of the AAS in Agriculture Science graduates will achieve the following core outcomes:

  • Graduates will have used a variety of educational resources, including on campus labs, the learning resource center, and off-campus cooperative work experience.
  • Graduates will be proficient in the use of modern agricultural technology, including computers, the Internet, and other tools and technologies necessary for economically efficient production.
  • Graduates will be able to make sound agricultural management decisions based on both economic and biological data.
  • Graduates will be able to read, interpret, and apply the latest agricultural science research available.

The AAS in Agriculture Science is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to be successful as an entrepreneur, employee, or as a student at a four year institution. The curriculum is closely aligned with both the Oregon and National Standards for Agriculture and Natural Resource Education.

Through a variety of classes, students will receive education in Animal Science, Plant Science, Soil Science, Agribusiness Management, Agriculture Mechanization and Natural Resource Management. The combination of these skills and abilities will prepare students for the exciting challenges awaiting them in the field of Agriculture.
