This course introduces the nursing student to the concepts of nursing practice and conceptual learning. Principles of evidence-based nursing practice will include the identification of clinical practice problems, the evaluation of available evidence, and the integration of evidence with clinical expertise and patient preferences in application to practice. The student is also introduced to concepts of health and illness across the lifespan: oxygenation, homeostasis/regulation, elimination, protection/movement, and emotional processes.
